Hi
Can somebody please share pin out for MTH DCRU QSI board ?

Please refer to attached picture and comment on listed terminals with ? mark.
I tried to search for it in this forum with partial success. Whatever found is below:

DCG = ?
R1 = ?
M2 = motor 2  ?
ACG = outside rail
R2 = ?
M1 = motor 1 ?
AC = center rail
-R = ?

Thank You
Chris

ACG = AC Ground

DCG =DC Ground which is + voltage on DCRU.

M1 and M2 are motor lead voltages that can be provided to the sound board when attached.  There is also an AC pin again to get AC up to sound boards or whistle boards.

Other points are signals that would move up and down depending on function activation.  Some are good test points for transistor signals that activate the motor direction relays.  G

ACRU was designed for that use.  Hasn't been made in years, but worked very well.  I replaced most of my old E-units with them.  No buzz.  On power up, always in neutral-before forward.

With a DCRU: I have never tried this. I cannot guarantee it won't cause damage.  The current drain of a pulmor may be too much for a DCRU.  Field winding has one end soldered to ground and the other goes to E-unit.  If the wire that goes to the E-unit is connected to the ground input of a DCRU (which then should not be connected to the outer rail), and the hot input to the DCRU is connected to the center rail, and the motor leads from the DCRU are connected to the pulmor brushes.  It MIGHT work.  As I said:  your risk.  The pulmor can easily draw over 5 amps, whereas a pair of can motors will draw much less.

Which leaves the question of what is your goal?  Do be aware that Frank Timko has can motors that will replace pulmors.

RJR - thank you for your inputs.
You made very good point with pulmor's current draw vs DCRU capabilities.
I could be too optimistic in my speculations. B/c of low budget for my project I'm kind of reluctant to replace pulmor motors or use Dalee high current e -units.  Do you think ACRU unit will handle pulmor's high current ?

I appreciate your help

Well, I'm trying to resurrect old  (decompleted) lionel engine. It was using mechanical e-unit with 2 AC pulmors ( 1 for each 6 wheels truck).  Some time ago i found a topic in this forum saying that pulmors can be DC powered - it didnt say which eUnit to be used with it. I have few spare DCRU hence my initial idea to use them with pulmors, but i totally missed the fact you brought about pulmors current draw. So to summarize I'm looking now for cheap electronic  e-unit, which can be used with pulmors. ACRU seems to be an option - if only possible to find. I wonder if there is any DIY project of electronic e-unit. I could theoretically assemble something out of many components I have at home.
Have you seen by any chance a DIY project or schema of custom AC eunit ?

I have some New Lionel AC Reverse units that where used for the late 90's style dual pullmore diesel Lionel produced as conventional engines.  These look like LCRUs and would work well and are dual motor rated.  My contact info is in my profile.  These are the units I would use for PW type engines.  G

I have a PROTO 1 GG1 that I'm putting a PE104 Proto-DCRU-WD Reverse Unit into.  After installing the unit the GG1 will only go in one direction.  The instructions say it should start in neutral but it started running in one direction and will not cycle through neutral forward neutral reverse.  It looks like it is wired correctly.  Does anybody a schematic for the board or have any ideas as to why this is not operating correctly?

Those jumpers would have been installed at factory.  They connect the output of the transistor to drive relay coils for motor function.  Removing prevents one direction from operating.  The L1/L2 would be where the lockout switch is.  Turns power on or off to the logic circuit.  When off, locks it in the desired direction.  F, N, R.  G
