Please see Kelly's response in the link below. Basically not enough manpower to have 765 running across the system on all day excursions.

I would LOVE to, but I'll be at work, which is nine miles DUE WEST of Casad along the Nickel Plate.  In order to see it, I have to try to calculate almost EXACTLY when it will pull out onto the main, and then leave work ten minutes before it does.  With the spotty scanner reception in that direction, it can be a REAL challenge.

This move is not an excursion! It is a deadhead move from Fort Wayne to Bellevue with no passengers. HUGE difference.

 

And the move is still set for Sunday...

Sure sounds like someone loves to hear themselves talk....I'm glad that Kelly put an end to that bologna.

I have to say that riding in the heavyweight coach was an awesome ride. It is so much more comfortable than the lightweights. Which brings up another point. I support the CVSR, but we don't ride many of the "regular" trains. Why? because all of the CVSR cars have sealed windows. You can't hear, smell, or feel anything inside those cars. It wrecks the experience. Just my opinion of course.

I would estimate that we will not get back to Fort Wayne before dark on Monday 9/15, but I'm not 100% sure of that. It all depends on other traffic on WLE and NS and if/when we get put in the hole for other traffic to pass.
