I found a few sites on the web that help you track the 765, including the fort wayne's own site. I would like to try to see it on this Sunday morning on its first route that goes towards pittsburgh. Anyone have any idea where a good spot to catch it would be and when to be there? Thanks guys

Do some Google Maps work and you'll see what I mean.

I second his suggestion.  Google Maps with Street View has helped me find good locations when chasing in unknown territory.  Here's a link to Google Street View next to the yard where she's parked now, pointing towards Pittsburgh on Route 65...

Unfortunately, with my slow DSL connection, Google maps is nearly impossible to use for virtual scouting.  I knew that the tracks parallel 65, but I wasn't planning on a chase.  I was just hoping to get some tips on spots with a good track view.  Maybe I'll just have to get up extra early and physically drive around the area to find a good spot.

Is the first trip leaving Conway at 0900?

I'd like to take the kiddies to see 765 on the move over the weekend -- I'm figuring seeing her from Route 65 around Leetsdale would work out good as there are a lot of open areas that parallel the NS mainline there.

I checked the 765 site but didn't see depart times listed anywhere.  Any idea what time she is due to leave Conway headed towards Pittsburgh on either Saturday or Sunday?

thx

A little further north on 65, either end of the town of New Brighton.   The bridge over the Beaver River, where the Ethanol train derailment was a few years ago, or near the Subway sandwich shop, shows on Blystovski's Google Map, the tracks open to view. Different spots along Main Street, 3rd Ave., also open to the railroad and river. Either side of the Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe.  Back lot of Hank's Ice Cream, next to the YMCA also views the elevated railroad.
