Thanks all, and glad you enjoyed them! Yes Dick, these are my shots from the weekend. The line is a challenge to shoot with the way the train was running, but as you can see, with a little planning, some help from some friends, and a little luck, you can do all right out there! The crew had the engine looking and sounding outstanding all weekend, and everyone I talked to that rode had nothing but rave reviews. Hopefully NS and FWRHS can keep this partnership up. Maybe move to a different area of the system each year. I know people around Philly where I am would love to see 765 back between Reading and Allentown again like back at the Convention in the 80s. Again, thanks for taking the time to check out the photos, and I am glad you liked them!

Yeah, I found out Sunday - if you want to take pictures of the train, don't ride it, like I did.  Thanks for posting them, Darryl.  I have been spoiled by riding trains on private lines where you can walk around the engine when it's at rest and take it all in.  This long train and short loading platforms and being next to a mainline made it nearly impossible to do that, which is understandable.  Next time, I will be on the sidelines.  And after asking, they said Rich was "on the ground" today.  I think he would have made the supposed run-by in Altoona station a lot more exciting.  NS and the 765 staff did an outstanding job in coordinating parking, people movement, passenger comfort, etc.

No problems at all with you using it as a desktop, the Brickyard shot is mine currently. As for riding vs photographing, I love the photography aspect of the hobby, and unless I can get an open car, the riding part loses interest for me. I want to hear the engine and smell the smoke. But I usually try to make a donation to the organization running the trip as a gesture of thanks!
