They have been known to do that. Mine does it without pushing the button sometimes.  Freaked me out the first time it happened.  Of course it never happens around Halloween.

Mine plays The Twist. But as I said it plays the creepy music on its own when it feels like.  👻😈💀☠

Shutting the power off and turning it back on clears it up till the next time.

Priests are only good against demons  and are ineffective against ghosts.  Best to do some research on whatever estate sale sold you the item than maybe consult The Haunted Collector.  I have an analog television that will turn itself on.  It sits unplugged in my house.  I purchased it new though so some stray spirit must have entered into its electrical fields!

The TV's STATIC is a poltergeist.  (Static guard it.  Boards too, let dry. BEWARE of high voltage coil wire if you open it..leave it unplugged beforehand too, eh?)

If anyone can capture that creepy music in a digital recording and post it here, I would deeply appreciate it.

I strongly suggest getting a K2 meter and running it around your Starlight Diner the next time Power is active to the diner.  Keep all other power off and you should be able to find the problem.  Once the problem is identified, pull out a recording device and query the offending entity.👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻

Static gaurd may be the answer for the sound board as well. It doesn't take much to trigger an IC chip, static is very capable of doing it. I write with many experiences of it in coin-op repairs.

I'm not completely discounting any belief's here. I had an experience, three really, that I can't explain and frankly, don't like talking about it.   But try the cheaper static gaurd first  

Though it's been three years since our train layout has been packed away, and the guests have long finished their home cooked meals of big pancakes and greasy burgers; I lay in bed at my old farm house and still hear that bone chilling tune as I turn my head to go to sleep!  I did some digging and found the video of the (haunted) Starlight Diner playing its sinister song. 😱👻

Sounds a lot like an "Easter Egg", favorite bored programs way to hide things including video games inside other programs. Usually need some odd/long series of presses to activate.

Sounds like you need to call in these guys... ALL of them!

Does the Starlite Diner fluctuate between The Twist and Monster Mash ?

We have some Williams engines that are used to pull the track cleaning cars and every once in a while one of them will do the same thing.

It sounded to me more like a child banging away on one of those toy pianos.

My early 2000-ish Williams 44-ton diesel engine, with built in horn and whistle sound, occasionally plays weird beeping, bopping, carnival type calliope music, non stop.   I have to get it off the tracks and let is sit awhile for it to stop. Only happens about once every 4 months, so I live with it.
