I have a #97 coal elevator from the early 1950's.  I'd like to rebuild the drive and chain mechanism because of requent jamming.  Other than the motor and gears, does anyone know if the parts from the recent edition would fit?  Specifically, I'm thinking of:

6SP-2921-014 bottom chain shaft

6SP-2621-017 Sprocket

-----------026 Sprocket mounting screw

-----------011 Bucket & chain assembly

-----------033 Top chain shaft spring

-----------032 Top chain shaft busing

-----------029 Chain shaft top

I get it working on my workbench like a fine clock, but when replaced on the layout and moving coal, it always jams.

I have the machine on my workbench again, and made an interesting discovery.  It appears larger chunks of coal may catch between a bucket and the bottom scoop, jamming the mechanism.  I, like CW, had gone to a larger coal to avoid having it jam between the sprocket and the chain.  A finer coal seems to work better, but the fines may be a problem/ Also, I found one of the buckets is so tight on the chain that it can't flex enough so that one side can lift up over a lump of coal.
