Fix this.  Wired up interestingly (factory).  For this unit they put LNB on the IL circuit controlled buy Aux light softkey.  The HL circuit has HL and IL, Lead A has operating ditch.  So when you go in reverse this unit has Lead A IL go out with the HL.

The trail A has IL running LNB, RL has RL, IL, and the non operating Ditch lights. When in reverse everything lights.

Cause: the IL wire in the LEAD was frayed going to PCB and ultimately broke.  That was causing low return for LNB and then they stopped working.  G

Delivered it to George today. He had my unit for all of 90 minutes. Barely time to unpack it.

And he fixed it. George came very highly recommended. I see why.

I was so reluctant to send this out for repair. Thanks to all of you that encouraged me to do so.

George! You are my train Yoda! Thank you!

I stole this image from John Will, however, it fits this story,……

I’m glad George got it fixed for you, …..that’s a tough set to find!

No kidding. I searched for it for quite some time. Had given up. Busted my budget on a beautiful SD70ACE, only to stumble upon the Norfolk Southern a few days later, by pure dumb luck. Sold the SD, and a set of passengers cars - at a heavy loss - but wasn't letting the NS set go.

Looks good.  I am not a real railroad expert, but after seeing how they wired that unit, the MARS 2 signal does come over from the LEAD A to the Slave.  The Slave generates a flashing MARS 2, but they did not use it in the Trail A.  If the MARS 2 wire was added and connected to the ditch light pad, the Trail Unit ditch lights would flash.  Together vice sequential, but flash when in reverse.  G

Yes it would be nice if they flashed, but I'm happy they work and the number board lights are functioning. I usually have my engines locked in F/F direction anyway, so I'm willing to be happy they at least come on when in reverse.

And I must be learning a bit. I actually understood your explanation here!
