A Great Time with Great Friends at a Great Train Meet...pictures!

 Sorry I didn't get to meet you yesterday. I was going to stop at Rogers house but I took a disabled buddy of mine to dinner. I was able to see Roger for a few minutes as the show was closing and I did manage to see Jerry's Layout.

  It was nice to see a great turnout for the show in the Ozarks!

Alan,  I am sorry that I could not make it from Little Rock.  You guys always have a good time.  I really enjoyed touring the beautiful layouts of Roger Wasson, Vernon Hart, and Jerry Murray the week end you first organized the Mid America 3 Railers.  Regards,  Pat B.

Spence...  The first picture was taken at Vernon Hart's layout.  Mike Burnside is on the left and me on the right.  The next to last picture, taken at Jerry Murray's layout is of Owen Collins and Mike Burnside.  The last picture is at Vernon's layout with me, Mike, and Vernon.

Alan, yes it was a great event with lots and lots of people.  We left at 1:30 to head home and families still streaming into Remingtons.  Looks like everyone was happy and having fun!  Two things, tho.  1. Was anyone buying?  2. There was really only one small o-gauge layout.  We'll be there next year for sure.

John...good to see you!  Lots of people buying....I watched carefully and lots of boxes and bags were in people's hands and going out the door so I think this was the most successful meet there in many years.  The OMRA always does a great job.  There were several layouts with a couple more O-gauge layouts in the room to the left of the stage....  There were quite a few layouts in addition to the O-gauge ones as this is a multi-gauge meet.  Plenty of trains for everyone!!

Yes, Alan, I agree that were were plenty of trains!  You could tell that folks were having a great time on Saturday.  And, kids were loving the train layouts.

Thanks for a great time this past weekend. Owen and I really appreciated the opportunity to visit your layout, along with Jerry's, Vernon's, and Roger's layouts. The Springfield show was great. The number of tables was impressive. The various scales of trains covered N to LGB and wow, 2,500 souls passed through the doors!

You posted the two pictures I took of the Springfield show. I was so busy shopping for trains I only managed to take the two pictures. My big find at the show was a far less than perfect 364 log loader that will work great on the Casey Jones Kids layout - $25!

I did take a lot of pictures of the layouts we visited, so here are a few more in the order of the visits

First of all, the Cotter visit.

Since you mentioned the train ride for the kids I took a picture as I was leaving.

Here are a couple of pictures of the "Rusty Wheels" S gauge layout from North Arkansas. These pictures were from the fall show. They were at this show but it was too crowded to get a good picture.

Robert...Thanks for posting the pictures of the train.  The kids were lined up before the doors opened and were riding the train right up to closing....  As far as the layouts in the side room, I could hardly get in there so glad you had pictures from last year.  OMRA did a fine job of promoting this event as usual and it just keeps growing.  It reminds me of the "good ol' days"...

Thanks everyone for the nice comments and the extra pictures of the event.  One thing I forgot to mention is that the LCCA hosted their special event during the show.  Those of you that couldn't make this meet, the next one will be in the fall...keep checking the Ozark Model Railroad Association website...

Almost forgot....a special thanks goes out to those that opened their layouts to tours.  It means so much to be able to see what others have done and is an inspiration to those that are planning a layout.

Now that the winter is almost over, and we will have a warm garage, we should have both the garage layout and garden running again. I hope you will be able to come by during the fall show.

Seems like everyone had a terrific time. Wish I could have joined the merriment, but too many conflicts. Hopefully next time. Richard has nothing but amazement in his description of the layouts.
