Here's a modified version of your loops. Thr crossovers have bee extend to provide parking space for trains or operating cars with their accessories. When I was MUCH younger I liked to do this because I had to delivers papers for a month to afford a pair of switches. I used scarm.

I like your idea .
I did the layout for a co worker at the hobby shop I work at part-time .
He main interest was to run a few MTH & lionel engines that need 072 curves . the o-60 loop was for all other engines !
he also has a few 21" passenger cars .
I may try your idea with 048 & 036 curves !
I also had a paper route when I was 12 . I had the route for 3 years .
