This TV advert is currently being aired on Dutch TV stations. I thought that some of you may find this amusing, as it is model train related. Although I somehow doubt that many layouts would have quite the suggested effect upon an electricity meter.

LOL! Nice post Nicole.

Maybe them newfangled electric-powered live steam engines from Hornby use that much power?!
Nice advert! Maybe I can get one of my wife's freinds; Hidagart or Jackilyne to translate for me, if it is German. I speak a few words in German, but not enuff to understand the commercial.

Sorry, I should have explained what's happening.
Basically, the couple are trying to discover why their bill is so high, and the husband is going around the house plugging items in while the wife is watching the meter. As he moves around the house and plugs in each item he asks 'Is it this?', and his wife relies 'No' each time, until he plugs in his trains. At which point the meter goes mad, the wife exclaims 'That's it! What is it?', and the husband quickly replies 'It's your curling tongs', as the train passes by. (Very rough translation, but that's the general theme.)
Priceless.
That's funny - I like it. Thank you for posting and for the translation!
Very funny; thanks for posting (and translating), Nicole.
Good one!
That's a fun ad, kind of retro. And thanks for the translation - my Dutch is lousy. I got the general idea and the model train running up the electric bill, but I never would have gotten the curling tongs.
Great commercial Nicole ; My wife has friends in the Netherlands I wonder if they have seen it?
Nice!

Alrighty, then. I thought so but wasn't sure.
Now, Nicole, would you do me the favor of contacting me via email (gun.slick@juno.com) so I can beg a favor of you?
Thank you very much.
Nicole
That was funny and I watched it about three times and cannot stop laughing. Thanks
Nice, I liked it. "If your not not Dutch, your not much!" Fred
