Pretty impressive seeing those 4-axle trucks on museum trackage, even if it is IRM:

Since the frogs on their trolley wire aren't equipped for pantographs, they have to drop the pans while passing wire frogs. It's not clear if this one is running on 600V, as the Wikipedia article seems to suggest they needed 1500-3300VDC while in regular service.

Batteries not included.  Overhead wire only.

The North Shore had a motor that could run off of overhead or batteries.

IRM only has 600v power.

That carbosy is sure riding high off the trucks.  it is a Lionel model, right?

Nope - more like this GE model that comes in a purple box - check out the high-water pants on this one...

Back to the most handsome 803 running at the IRM - those folks have done a splendid job prettying up that South Shore monster.  My grandparents lived in Gary, IN about 100 feet from the South Shore's mainline, and it was always a thrill to see a seemingly mile long train being pulled by an 800 (not a Little Joe on the South Shore).

Since you stated "We......", I'm sure that the IRM is anxiously awaiting your LARGE financial donation in order to pay for that repaint?

Besides, The IRM got the 803 from The South Shore Railroad.

And repainting equipment into something it wasn't isn't in their charter.

Perhaps - just perhaps - a temporary wrap with Milwaukee Road colors could be applied for the right donation.  That snappy Milwaukee Road caboose with the ribbed sides would look kinda neat tucked behind (temporarily, just temporarily)...
