Even though this isn't my video, which I'm sharing, I have to say, this is about equal or better then CP Holiday Train. Also it's great to see 4449 back. Also in the video starting at 1:08 that is about the best Christmas or Steam video I've seen in a very long time.

Great video, thanks for posting.
Beautiful! It's good to see the 4449 back out.
I wonder if Doyle, and Jack were doing the "Honors" on this run?..................................Brandy!

Doyle was/is, as he lives out there. I'm still home, as they have LOTS of volunteers for the Holiday Express.
Yeah Jack, but you and Doyle are kinda like Butch and Sundance. Not unlike Steve Lee and Jack!.................................Brandy!
Forgot to thank you Tommie for sharing the post!.............................................
Grand sights and sounds, indeed! Thanks for posting! Here is another Christmas train video. Watch for the shadow of Santa's team and sleigh on the water tower at the beginning and the reflection at 2:03.
Thanks for posting... What states does the SP run in...?
That is the coolest!

There no longer is an "SP", as it is all Union Pacific now.
Wow!, that's great, Thank you:
Wow ... that was cool, Tom!
At times, it seemed like I was watching an animated movie or something. lol
Great post!

If you mean the 4449, rather than SP, Hot Water would be a reliable source, UP I believe will allow the 4449 access to BNSF tracks, but that's it. BNSF has been pretty generous in the past, allowing access along the Columbia River and the Oregon Trunk line and points East.
It is a Shame that the UP doesn't allow her more access, but they do have their own Steam Program, and it is their tracks, so they make the rules.
It wouldn't be much of a stretch though to make the 4449 an 'Honorary Member ' of the Heritage Fleet, as now her home rails are a part of the UP system.

Even though that's not my video which I shared here, I didn't know it would get this popular. Yes seeing Christmas Lights on a GS-4 or any steam locomotive is cool. But something about the lights the way they did them around the nose of the engine and front is really cool.

Well, truth be told,,,,,there really isn't any useable locations on the UP, i.e. former SP, to operate steam excursions on a "one day round trip" basis anyway. The destinations available on the BNSF lines, all with truly spectacular scenery, are far more numerious, and thus much easier to sell tickets on.

Yes it would, so long as the current management is in place on the UP, in Cheyenne, Wyoming!

I,'m impressed with the lights not melting on that thing and the different Whistle than other videos I have seen
Great video. Thanks for posting.

The lights are not mounted on any part that is hot.
on that thing
Why do you refer to the most beautiful operating steam locomotive in the world as "that thing"?
and the different Whistle than other videos I have seen
Boy, the footage with the moon behind the smoke was amazing.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Loved the video. It's just great one of the most beautiful steam locos ever built still survives.
Loved the "Merry Christmas" on the train!
One question, the rods seemed a little noisy, was that normal?
Last night I recorded a video about the "Daylight" what a great train that was. One thing
I noted was that when diesels were put on the trains, people, not railfans, complained!

Yes, pretty much when not working hard or drifting. However, always remember that it is MUCG BETTER to hear the rod bearings, than it is to smell them (overheating/burning up the pin grease).
