Many thanks to Andy Blakley for opening up his home for a few guys from the other side of town.  Andy and his wife put out a nice spread.  We got to run trains on Andy's well though out and absolutely stunning layout, still in progress.  5 trains running on the mainlines!

Guys

The really great feature of this layout imo is that it has 2 mainlines that loop over and under around the length of the layout.  You can, and we did have 3 trains on 1 loop and be able to keep them well spaced.  You can tell a lot of time and thought went into Andy's planning.  It is the layout that I will base my next and final one on.  At least in concept.

The layout is well powered as evident by the amount of engines with smoke units and passenger cars on the rails.

BTW, it was all Legacy, all night.  5 remotes all running at once.  Come in, turn on and find the base.  Change a couple of IDs and we were running trains in about 3 minutes.

I suspect we will see this layout in OGR soon.  Once I get a few videos off my iPhone I'll post them to this thread.

I certainly hope so!

Remember, folks, a layout does not have to be 100% finished (if any layout really is ever finished) to make a fine feature for our readers.  All I need is a "heads-up" that the layout owner is ready and willing, and I'll take it from there.

Andy, do you happen to know my friend Lynn Sontum?  He also lives in Saxonburg.

Dave

Dave, I do know Lynn Sontum.  It has been a little while since I've run into him, my wife and I had him for Physics in high school.  He was a great teacher!  I look forward to catching up with him.

Thanks guys for the nice comments.  Everyone here in the hobby knows how much time and hard work it takes.  I'm just happy to share it with fellow friends.

Andy B.
