All NS photos except for the one with cantenary were taken in downtown Pittsburgh or near Conway yard. The CSX pictures came from downtown Pittsburgh. The AVR pictures were taken near Venitia, Pa.

Video taken today (3/2/13) from walkway leading into Amtrak's Pittsburgh station (not trespassing!). Also some AVR action from earlier in the week. Wish I could upload the videos I took, but they're too large. All photos taken with Apple iPhone 5.

Thank you for sharing your photographic material. Indeed, in former Conrail territory, it seems as though an NS through train led by anything other than a wide cab GE is a rarity!

CNJ,
Once, down near Conway yard, I saw a SD70M-2, and I have seen a set of yard and a set of road slugs.

Where is the location of the three engines in the video? Our Modular Club "The Fort Pitt Hi-Railers" spent a week at the recent Pittsburgh Home show at the convention center in downtown Pittsburgh where our layout was set-up at the show. We had an excellent view of the Fort Wayne railroad bridge and saw a lot of trains that week. Nearly every one had a wide cab GE in the lead.

Route 88 in Castle Shannon about 7 miles or so from Downtown.
A few more T pictures, including a trolley that had been given a wrap. Please note that these photos and videos might have been taken months ago due to my eratic postings.

A few new photos, including an AVR freight (the first in three weeks!) and a few T shots. The AVR is unusual because it has gray GPs instead of the usual purple GP11s. As late as 2011, a four car train used to be considered long. Nowadays, it's usually 10-25 cars thanks to frac sand and Marcellus shale.

More new photos and a few videos. My train club had their open house, and my dad and I went to the PGH Amtrak station. We saw the Pennsylvanian as it was pulling up, and we saw an NS intermodal (GEs again, ugh!) at least two miles long. The intermodal video is chopped into sections so that I could attach it, and I did not include the whole train for fear of making the forum crash.

New stuff this week. Got an AVR with three gray GP40s, some T shots, and my friend leased me his MTH O Union Pacific SD70ACe. We also went hiking on part of the old Montour RR.

A while ago, I caught part of a l-o-n-g WLE freight crossing over Rt. 88 in Castle Shannon. The line still uses jointed rail. Also went on a trip to a mine in Tarentum, Pa, and on the way, got pictures of NS's mainline. There is also two pictures and a video of 765 on her way to Conway Yard.
