I am planning to do a Pennsylvania MOW flat car- one with a crawler crane on it. The crane I am looking at has a tread width ( outside to outside) of 2 5/8"-and therefore the narrowest flat car I could use would be 2 3/4 ( that would allow me to use a "keep-crane-on-the -car" wooden rail on either side of 1/16"-so something a bit wider ( 2 7/8-3") would be better. Now my question-does anybody know who may have made a flatcar of that width-most I am seeing are in the 2 1/2 range. Thanks in advance-turtle7

Thanks to Bob and Jan. I actually had looked at the site of equipment diagrams-and the actual crawler crane used by the PRR  was narrow enough to fit on a standard PRR flatcar. The crane I  am thinking of using for my model  ( EMD-Bucyrus-Erie 22B Clamb and Crane) is apparently wider than the prototype and hence would need a wider car. Even if I put the guard rails on the insides of the tracks, the tracks would overhang the deck-so I maty have to put another deck on a standard flat car itself, being careful, of course, not to create too much of an overhang.  Thanks again!!
