Back in the 1950's the New South Wales Government Railways was planning to import a loco from ALCO. It appears to be a PA design. A local O Gauge manufacturer at the time, O Gauge House, contacted Alco to get the loco designs to build a model to release at the time the locos made their appearance. However, the purchase never went ahead and instead a local builder produced another loco similar to an FA1. A small number of these models were produced, and it was labeled "Fred's Folly", as Fred was the owner of O Gauge House.
A friend of mine today turned up at the club with one of these rare models. Another friend still owns the molds.
