Withers Publishing has developed a well earned reputation as a provider of high quality literature, particularly as it pertains to diesel locomotives.  One of the publications for which the company is best known is its "Norfolk Southern Locomotive Directory". With its previous editions having proven extremely popular, the 2015-2016 version was recently released.

I had never purchased this book previously but NS' well publicized rebuilding programs and increasing variety of special liveries piqued my level of curiosity sufficiently to purchase this latest edition. The book is very thorough in its approach listing complete roster information, rebuilding and repainting dates as well as specifications of the various classes of units. In addition, there are many color photographs so the book is a treat from both an informational and visual perspective. Content is current; for example, coverage of the AC44C6M rebuilds painted in their special blue, gray and yellow livery is contained herein.

I've noticed a lot of interest in Norfolk Southern models on here the past few years, particularly since Lionel and MTH have released or announced a variety of NS diesels including the upcoming SD60E rebuild so I thought I'd let folks know about this book. As seen in my picture of the book, there is a very nice photograph of the First Responders SD60E on the cover.

I agree, these are very good references. As you say, they also have some very good pictures and lots of other good info as well. I have an older one for BNSF (2011-2012) that is now becoming pretty outdated with all the new engine purchases, but I still use it. Seems like they update them about every 2 years, mine should be about due and I will be upgrading. Well worth the price, IMO.
