Last February 6th. Boilermaker1 caught my attention with simple the topic "GGD El Capitan".  That thread set off a firestorm on the 3RS forum and 12,300 views later it is still smoking today.  I can not remember any thread on any of the OGR Forums that stayed on the front page without interruption for an entire year.  YES, there is the "What did you do on your Layout Today?" topic that has been active for a long time on the Hi-Rail, O27 Triditional 3-Rail O Gauge Fourm, but it does slip off the front page from time to time.

I would have posted this comment directly in the "GGD El Capitan" topic, but somebody may have accused me of bumping.

Scott's last comment on the El Cap leads me to believe that it may arrive in late April or May.  I'm ready, how about you?

Unfortunately, it's gone. The Natty Boh thread was one of the epic threads here on the OGR forum.. Fortunately while the thread hit the bit bucket, the cars remain. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have both road numbers.

Through the miracle of the 'inner-web I found a picture of me picking up my car from Paul Strickland. Several of us drove to Baltimore to pick up our car(s) in person. Paul put his heart and soul into this project. These remain my favorite cars, bar none.

I am pleased for everyone who ordered the El Capitan set. It is another one of those highly sought after passenger car sets and a big thank you for Scott for producing them.

If you love Sante Fe and have the room for 21" cars, this is one you would want on your layout. You don't have too long to wait now Jim.

Jim,

Hope you don't get mad at me for this, but the 3-Rail Scale Forum has far less activity than the Hi-Rail, O27, and Traditional 3-Rail O Gauge Forum.  The last topic on the 3-Rail Scale Forum's first page was posted Jan 26, while the last topic on the O gauge forum was posted an hour ago.  I think the "What did you do on your Layout Today" topic comes back up more often than the "GGD El Capitan" topic.  Both topics have been good reading.

Most of the time I only check the forums once a day, and for the O gauge forum I need to go back a two or three pages to get caught up.
