As a professional sales and marketing guy, an ad that states no new inventory and spells out "NO" or "CAN NOT" 12 times in an short ad to get my business just rubs me the wrong way.
Maybe it's just me.
Paul
We don't include new releases to protect the people who preordered from us. It's not fair if they just got an item and we put it on sale. As to the rest of our disclaimers, unfortunately there are some people who try to take advantage if there are no disclaimers on our sales.

Perhaps... But have you listened to a typical 30- or 60-second commercial lately on TV or radio? The last half+ is filled with disclaimer info... sometimes played back at quadruple the speed it was recorded to fit the time-slot! And for new medicines, it's amazing anyone even tries them after listening to all the disclaimers -- some of which pretty much indicate severe complications or death (though unlikely) are possible.
It's the way of the world today, given how consumers are so oriented to take advantage of a situation today.

Thanks Ken,
Finally picked up that non powered B unit to finish out my set of Northern Pacific F3's

"some of which pretty much indicate severe complications or death (though unlikely) are possible." Unless you are the 1 guy out of 100 who became the statistic Agree that after listening to the possible issues I'd be afraid to take most of these drugs. (And we don't even know the dollar cost per dose.)
Understand all the disclaimers as the sale is for their in stock merchandise, just wish the TrainWorld was a little bigger type!
While I was in college, I worked retail in suburban NJ. Believe me, more often than not, a person would walk in and make a big deal about "your ad said this, or didn't say that, you didn't limit things, etc etc etc...." Growing up in an area that was rural until the Parkway went in, it just got to be a pain in the keester. I don't blame Trainworld for spelling it out. Like most folks from the Northeast, we seem brusque, but you *do* know where we stand, and once a friend, you're a friend for life.
Hi KenJrTW:
Based on the TW in your screen name & BobbyD's post, I understand that your sale is at TrainWorld. is this an accurate understanding ? You may want to edit your initial post to state in capital letters that TRAINWORLD is the store so that it is clearly understood by everyone.
I was happy to see your sale post. I was already thinking of ordering a few items from you, so I went onto your website and placed the order for:
1: MTH-RK CB&Q Redbird NW2 diesel loco,
2: Atlas-O Round House
3: Atlas-O Suburban Passenger Station Kit
Does the sale apply to Atlas-O items, too ?
I had asked many questions about the station kit last night on OGR Forum & believe that (based on the responses) this kit will be a great starting point for a model of Burlington Route's CB&N style depot from the Twin Cities line along the Mississippi River.
Do you have any idea when the Atlas-O turn table will be available in-stock ?
Thanks in advance !
CB&Q Bill
Hi Ken:
I greatly appreciate you taking the time to respond. Ken, I know it is so hard to keep the business protected these days from those who look to exploit any situation that presents an opportunity. A hard balancing act no doubt.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to respond to my critique. I see your point. All the best to you and your employees.
Paul
Why do retailers mark up to mark down? It just doesn't make sense to me.
Ken, thanks for promoting your Trainworld online/phone order sale. Can you please provide some info as to what is defined as a "new release"? Is it an item on your "new releases" page or the most recent company shipment or for a specific time period i.e. 3 mos, 6 mos or current year?
Keep up the good work with all your product videos.
Thanks guys! Sorry I wasnt able to respond right away Im at York right now! It's been great so far any way. Yes the sale does apply to Atlas O. Ill try to ask atlas when their turntables come back in stock but they haven't had a lot of o scale track in stock for a while now so not sure exactly. Also, Items that are received in our warehouse will be classified as "New Releases" for 90 days. Hope that info helps. Back to the show! Ken Jr.
KenJrTW:
Thanks for the response. TW e-mailed me to say that the sale only applied to the MTH-RK loco but not the Atlas-O. I will call them tomorrow & ask in person based on your e-mail. Either way, thanks for having the York sale open to those of us at home during the York meet.

I know it's off topic, but to clarify, it's federal labling and advertising laws that require drug companies to list all of the drug side effects. These side effects are those experienced by people participating in the drug clinical trials. However some of the effects, such as death, most of the time are not caused by the drug but by some other condition such as cancer, ect.,that they may have died from while participating in a drug study. It must be reported as a side effect because it happened during the patient's participation in the drug trial. Even if one person out of thousands in a trial experiences a sniffle, it must be reported as an adverse event.
CB&Q Bill, not sure who you spoke to Ill call up today and let them know but if you do speak to them you can tell them Ken Jr says its ok an atlas O scale. They'll ask me after, either way Ill call up and make sure they all know. Sorry about that.
Also I asked Atlas about the turntable and it doesn't look promising. There looking for a new manufacturer for that mold and they said it needs some upgrades. Might be a while
Last Day For The Sale! Make sure you take advantage!
I will just state that it's better to list positives rather than negatives. Perhaps use wording along the lines of "this discount applies only to....."

I received my order today from TrainWorld. It included my MTH-RK CB&Q NW2 redbird switcher and Atlas-O Round House & Suburban Passenger Station.
However, I was surprised that it also included an extra Round House.
I called right away and talked with Joannie. I had inadvertently ordered two on-line. She said no problem, ship it back with a copy of the receipt & letter, and she will give me store credit for the purchase price.
Wow, this is GREAT SERVICE !!! Thank you, Joannie.
TW's sale & the OGR thread on Lionel streamlined aluminum passenger cars inspired me to review TW's website even further. I noticed that they had the full Lionel 18" aluminum California Zephyr cars in stock for good prices, so I ordered them on-line with a note about availability of the corresponding Lionel CB&Q Zephyr F3 ABA diesel set. Joanne promptly called me about my question before processing the order. Again, GREAT SERVICE !!!
Thank you TrainWorld, Joannie, Anthony, & KenJrTW !!!

Great To hear CB&Q Bill!
Thanks for the vote of confidence!
