I am partial to 260 bumpers, but unlike the FasTrack lighted bumpers, the FasTrack Earthen Bumpers seem pretty solid.
Anyone ever add an LED light to a set?

I plan to use these:
That's my plan. A little dab of hot glue on the inside. I'm thinking the 3mm red ones? Maybe someone with actual experience can chime in.

Are you planning to solder the ends of the leads to the track or some other connection method?
John
About a year ago i made my own bumper & i did use one of the led's from evandesigns that you get power right from the track ,they are pre wired to accept track power you don't have to do anything ,except hook up to the track ,i don't remember what size led it was ,probably 3 mm ,not sure .
Thanks Gerald,
I have a bunch of different LEDs from Evan Designs, some of them red. I may just solder them onto the tabs underneath.

I put a socket ready led into my 260’s. The lens was a little tight, but it worked.

I still haven't gotten around to this. Has anyone done it recently?
Did you run a jumper to the nearest FasTrack center rail?
John
You need the center and outside rail connections. Simple to do.

I was going to run one lead over to the center rail on the ajoining track since there is no center connection on the earthen bumper. I'll probably give it some slack and not fasten the bumper section in case it gets hit.
Thanks,
John
Follow-up. To allow the bumper section to separate if there is an impact (kids layout) I drilled a hole in the section that lies just under where the center rail rests and inserted a 2-56 machine screw. The center rail sits tight on top of the 2-56 machine screw head to make good electrical contact.
Under that screw I put a 2-56 hex nut with one lead from the LED wrapped around it. I soldered the other lead from the LED to the tab for the outside rail.
