Hello can anyone refer me to a quality video on how to combine the two systems. I run the 990 Legacy command and can only run Lionel Legacy/TMCC locomotives, but I think I am missing out on some great MTH products. Currently I am running a ZW-C with 4 180 watt power bricks divided into 4 power districts. Thank you. Nick

TMCC/legacy can not control MTH engines. Connecting a DCS to legacy allows you to control Lionel engine through the tip remote or app. Very much one way. Plenty of YouTube videos on the subject.
You only need a video of installing DCS, since there is no compelling need to have the two systems interact. Nothing unusual needed for MTH command locos (PS2 and PS3) other than adding the DCS system in some form, so you can control MTH locos the same way you are controlling TMCC/Legacy locos. The issue is which version of the DCS system to purchase and when, since right now, a newly minted DCS system with warranty isn't readily available. You don't need to change your TMCC/Legacy setup. Just for reference the original DCS system had a TIU (the equivalent of the TMCC or Legacy command base) and a handheld remote (the equivalent of the cab-1, cab-1L or cab-2, the last also known as the Legacy remote).
This means acquiring equipment not easily available new from dealers for at least the moment: (1) a TIU (only the wi-fi version of the TIU is going to be made henceforth) and the DCS app (installed on a smart phone or tablet), or (2) a used TIU/DCS handheld remote combination or (3) for just a few locos and a subset of the features the Explorer (a DCS TIU work-alike with limited functions operated only by the DCS App). We are told the newest version of the wi-fi TIU will be available real soon, but I haven't heard an actual date.
If you want to operate your TMCC/Legacy locos with the DCS app or handheld, you will need to have the TIU, obviously, and have it connected to your TMCC or Legacy base by the cable MTH hopefully still makes.
Things are in transition this last year or two with MTH downsizing and the pandemic/supply chain problems.
