Adding lights to a Lionel Dummy | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I recently bought the new Lionel GP35 non-powered (dummy unit) I was surprised to find that there is no lighting installed in the unit. I figured I would add my own LED lighting but there are no roller pick-ups either. Is there a way for me to add center rail pick-ups to this engine?

You could add rollers or perhaps run a tether from the powered unit, whichever method you find easier. A tether from the powered unit would allow you to have directional lighting.

A little older Lionel GP30. I added TMCC, Electrocouplers, simple lighting and this pickup. I didn't ty and conceal the wood block. It's on the underside and not seen anyhow

The trucks may accommodate adding a pickup with standard hardware, but since I have no experience with this particular dummy, that's hard to say.
