Even though York is a national event, it is still the Eastern Division's meet (so no other TCA divisions usually participate, unless it's a faraway division sponsoring a bus trip). So, it may feel odd for a METCA Youth Club to participate at the Eastern Division's meet.

But yes, SC4HT is a top-notch youth model railroading group! I completely get what you are saying.

Obviously the show is run by EDTCA, but I seem to recall there have been layouts there that were not from the EDTCA area.  If the point is promoting the hobby, then I can't see how that would be odd. I suspect the EDTCA folks would be over the moon to have a layout done by young people there. I am grateful for the people who take the time to bring their layouts to the show and the effort it takes, very much appreciated with the cost of time and money. I have never done something like put together a modular railroad like this, schlep it there and put it up, but I have done things like charity auctions that are for a single night that took a year of planning and a ton of work the day of, I can only imagine what putting a meet on is like.
