I'm looking for a small single-stall engine house - something that might be found at the end of a branch line - to replace one I'm 'home-made' - do you have any recommendations or advice?

I was just looking at a JV models Halliburton engine house on their website. I'd love to build that one. I've had good luck with some of their other kits. It's a craftsman style. You've got to fab the parts. Not laser cut with tabs and all. A lot of fun to build.

MTH does/has made a very nice single and double stall engine house. Many dealers have them in stock.
I am a fan of Lionel's single stall engine house. It was recently released as a built up but there are still a lot of the earlier kits available.
Good luck and happy railroading,
Don
I use the Lionel covered bridge accessory. The size fits well and has interior illumination. Very reasonably priced. It's grey, but you can repaint if you want. No doors, and open at both ends. I use several together and use a roof only option between adjacent 'buildings', works fine. I have also used the kit version of the Lionel engine stall, but found that it has a tendency for the sides to warp.
I use the single stall built up from MTH, it has a crane inside. I have been very happy with it. Might even get the Two staller to go with it.
Lionel offered two single stall buildings- one was small but had thick walls, and the other was fairly long with thin walls.

I have both of the Lionel ones that were built and customized by Brian Fisher. Currently in my yard area but will be changing the set up. Anyone interested post your e-mail and I'll send you photos.
