Thanks guys, yes my son is really eating it up!

He wants to know when the bridge will be done to complete the trains going all the way around the room! My reply " I'm working on it".

Here he is loading up some layout items in a  box car, which I will find a month later...

And here he is telling be about how long the train is and how it is ready to take his items on to the big city and that they are important for...  and....(add big long story here)

He sure is my big helper... here is his "first wrenching job"...

Look at that concentration... a real natural...

Proto 2 might be out of my price range of 150 dollars.

In a TMCC/Legacy environment a PS-2/3 locomotive will act just like a conventional locomotive.  Therefore if you can use the bell and horn/whistle button for conventional locomotives you can do it for the MTH locomotive.  This would require a ZW-C/L or PowerMasters/TPCs providing power to the track as you'd also need to vary track voltage to get the MTH locomotive to move.

Good news. I have the ZWL that runs in conventional with remote control via cab 1 or Cab 2. Basically just varies the voltage, was not sure if the horn functions and bell functions are in this mode for other engines as well.

Thanks.

J, with this setup you can run any locomotive, conventional or command and get whistle, bell, and engine sounds if included.
