I am looking for recommendations on two types of switches.
The first is for use for activation (such as for MTH carwash). Are these momentary switches? I'd appreciate recommended sources for purchase as well.
The second is for on-off switches such as would be used for many simple operating accessories.
I will likely mount both typeson some type of fascia.

Tons available on DaBay and elsewhere. I use these to power track blocks. The pre-assembled leads make final connections easier. Simple push button momentary switches would work for most accessory activation.
The car wash switch is just a momentary contact switch. Anything like a door bell switch would work...

Atlas O sells a surface mount 3-set SPST slide switch (#205 - see Walthers web page - 105-205). This is meant for HO track control but can also be used to power O scale accessories. They sell for about $12 each. There is a high power version of this for O scale track control but it is more expensive and may be overkill for your purposes. I use the HO version to control lights and accessories on my layout.
If you don't like the looks then go for the standard SPST toggle switches any home improvement store sells. These are big - 20 amp versions and are most definitely overkill for accessories. I use these for track power control. If you want the mini toggle switches you will have to go online and search. Amazon/Ebay sells both.
