Hello y'all,

I have gotten pretty good at weathering my rolling stock with an airgun, and I want to start weathering my locomotives (almost all steam). However, I am definitely intimidated to start this process. I am looking for any sort of advice/tips that will help me achieve a great look on my engines. Something that I am having  a hard time finding are good colors to use on the engines; I use Model Master engine black and railroad tie brown on my cars. Any sort of help is greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Greg

I use Scalecoat paints.  I pretty much stick with a few basic colors. Clear flat,Engine Matt black, Grimy Black, Roof Brown and Earth. I sometimes add some Grime. It comes in 2 colors. I sometimes add some Grimy black to the clear flat just to dull the shine. I vary the degree of weathering not so much by colors. But just how heavily they are applied.
