Anybody interested in seeing the last known pictures of Aerotrain number one or the last running Eie Builts?

In regular service, yes. Sitting in the dead line, no.

Where was this at?
I thought I had the Aerotrain photos but I think they are in a different book. Im halfway through the 2nd of 6 or 7 books. They might be further into the book im working on scanning. Ive got Alco's on the SP, some even in color, to bad theyre in bloody nose
I will have to ask my dad, he told me but I forgot, KC or Omaha I think
I also have pictures of FM Milwaukee Road 760
Those KCS Erie-Builts may be FM on the outside, but they're EMD on the inside!
Still, it's a shame none were preserved.
Rusty
Somewhere, I saw a color slide, washed out a bit, but still sharp, of a PRR J1...stripped of ID and keystone parked near to a line of dead Eries.. in various states of disrepair. The Big Jay would be heading west for Glassport, while the Eries would be going northwest to Erie on U25bs.
Those photos were taken in North Kansas City in the KCS yard. And I do have the Aerotrains in regular service outside the shops waiting for the next run.
This is just my gut feeling, but I believe that the last all-Fairbanks-Morse Erie-Builts in service were on the Pennsy. However, the re-engined Eries on KCS might have remained in service longer. Maybe we'll find out for sure.
