Try "RFGCO.COM"...

PortLines also has the wiring diagrams and parts. I personally prefer the wiring diagrams on RFGCO because they are in color. I guess I am attracted to bright colors. The Gilbert Factory Service Manual is on line at www.myflyertrains.net.

Tom by chance can you put a color photo on here if you have it? That would be great I just printed from rfgco
Thanks Mark
I have a screen shot of a couple of wiring diagrams on my iPad for personal reference. I think posting one here would not be permitted under copyright.
Here's one from the service manual. I don't think these are copyrighted since they are scans of the old manual. The newer ones may be though.

The newer colorized diagrams on the RFG site are likely owned by RFG. The old Gilbert Factory Service manual is posted to a number of websites and appears free to use with no copyright holder.
I always found it intriguing how Gilbert decided to give smoke units full track voltage on the 5th wire version compared to the four wire version where they wired the smoke unit across the brush tubes.
Whenever I rebuild a smoke unit on a four wire engine I now move one wire from the smoke unit to one of the field coil positions which gives full track voltage when it is running in a forward direction and the other brush tube is wired to the front rivet in the tender.
Thanks kelpie, Great photo Carl thanks for the info all, I did a search on OGR on AF 282 and the color photo wire photo was on this site, Thanks Again!! God Speed all! Thank a Vet. Mark
