AF 4000 fantasy paint scheme | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I picked up an American Flyer 4000 recently at auction and am thinking of painting it a Pennsylvania fantasy paint scheme based on the GG1. I'd like to do 5 stripe gold but can't find the Microscale decals anywhere. If anyone knows of a shop that has an O scale set of 48-42 Penn 5 stripe decals please let me know. I also can't decide between Tuscan and Green. I already have plenty of green AF passenger cars that it could pull but Shiny Tuscan red with the 5 stripes makes for a beautiful locomotive.

Tuscan for locos was very rare, only 10 GG1's ever painted, and they didn't last long. Hard to find decals that are large and long enough for standard gauge, I make my own using a vinyl cutter for my GG1. Would be glad to share the patterns, getting the curved parts right are a challenge.

Jim thanks for the offer to share the patterns. I'm not able to print gold so I went with O scale Microscale decals. It's looking pretty good as the first side goes on.
