The sound of the trainset would have been picked up by the microphones along with the dialog.

I was surprised to see the train in the opening scene...

The Burns & Allen show comes on 11 - 12 PM Sunday nights here on over the air broadcast.  Most night's I'm long asleep by then, but I make exception to stay up to see the show (2 episodes).

I agree with Grampstrains that there will never be another female comedienne as funny as Gracie.
