I'm looking for a 1:48 delivery van that is made by American Heritage Models. One site has seven different markings of the AHM delivery vans, one of which is a Charles Chips van similar to what I remember seeing as a kid. Because it is 1:48 scale I am hoping to get one, but I would like it to be model year specific for my layout. My layout is around the year, 1954.

The Charles Chips van is item # AHM 48004. Does anyone know what year that style van first began to be produced?

American Heritage Models also had a biege undecorated, white undecorated, two different green REA Express, a grey REA Express, and a green International Parcel Service vans.

The model van shown is a 1970's Chevy step van. For reference, please see:

I'm not sure what kind of delivery trucks Charles Chips used in 1954 (probably sedan delivery versions based on pickup trucks or station wagons), but the AMT version is way too modern for that time era. If you like the model, get it, and use it as a stand-in until a more era correct version can be found.
