I am posting this in this category and hopefully it will work.

I have sleep apnea an have an older cpap unit. Has anyone out there ever converted a unit like that into a air brush compressor? It gives off a steady volume of air and is very quiet without  any vibration.

I am going to try and modify mine but looking for comments.

Nate,

I'm sure you will find that your CPAP unit will not put out the volume of air needed. As a retired RT, I have tinkered in the past. I'm sure you will find that your unit will over-heat and start spitting out fine droplets of water. If you were to add a dryer your air volume would drop. It would be a project to keep you busy in case you ever get bored...Good Luck

Happy Pappy,

Thanks for getting back to me so fast. I was tinkering tonight. I shut off the humidifier.I will  go  to the Depot Tomorrow and look for some small pipe adapters. I will play around a little without ruining the unit. I would like to install a moisture trap and an air gauge but I guess it will lessen the volume as you say. I will let you and the forum know the results. Nothing beats a failure than a try.

Cheers,

Nate
