Any good ideas on how to get the cigarette smell from engines and boxes? Thanks Dave

Dave

buy a large bag of cheap charcoal briquets ,the one with out the lighter fluid in them. Put the charcoal in a heavy plastic bag , about 1/4 of the charcoal bag they came in, then gently tap on the plastic bag ,i use a rubber mallet , to break up the briquets . Open the bag with the crushed briquets , put a thin layer of paper on the briquets ,then put your engines or boxes on top of the paper ,gently close the plastic trash bag.Leave the trains in the bag for a day ,24 hr . then open and take your items out, you might have to repeat the procedure a few times , always use new bag and charcoal , easy clean up just through the plastic bag with charcoal away .  techman

That's a great idea to use charcoal for a deodorizer ... could be handy for other situations too. Thanks !
