All Nation F unit instructions

I am sure they supplied instructions.  What part of the assembly has you concerned?  We can help.  It is mostly screwdriver stuff, except for a couple of press fits on the truck.  If it is motor connections that have you baffled, there are far better ways than that stupid plastic tube.

I was really looking for the instructions for an assembly order more than anything.  What I have are envelopes full of parts and body parts.  No paperwork  of any kind. 

I guess you have to install the headlight lens during assembly then cover it with tape when you file and paint?  Looks like it has a flange that goes into the two body parts.

You are correct about installing the headlight lens.  The assembly of these locos is pretty straightforward but if my memory is correct, you will need a very short screwdriver to tighten the special screws that hold the unit together with the turnbuckle screws (left hand thread on one side right hand thread on the other) that are provided for this job.  I machined a very short straight blade screwdriver for this job from a piece of drill rod.

My "A"s all came with hex turnbuckles.  Just need a small distributor wrench for those.  I filed the ridge off the headlight lens so it would be a gentle press-fit.

Use some caution when tightening, and some epoxy (JB Weld) on that seam.  When complete, you do not want to see the seam.

I do not know what I was thinking about in my last post.  You are 100% correct.  All you need is a small wrench.

Tom , I have the original Atwater F-3 plans in PDF if you're still looking for these, not sure if AN's were very different. I'm like you in that I like having plans for stuff like this, though Bob and Joe are correct these are pretty straight forward to assemble.
