Anybody going, it is September 19,20 Friday and Saturday? How is it? Worth going?

This used to be called the Large Scale show. Runs twice a year. About five years ago there was a lot of G and O. Last time I went it was mostly G. Now they have split the shows and the spring is only G and the fall is supposed to be all scales. I plan to go on Saturday. It's about an hours drive for me.
It would be nice to live in an area that cold support multiple shows per year. We are lucky to get one show a year here locally, and it's mostly HO
A BIT TOO FAR FOR THIS SHOW. sINCE THERE ARE TABLE AVAILABLE AT YORK MEETS WOULD BE NICE TO ADD THIS INTO THE EASTERN DIVISION SHOW IN APRIL AND OCT
I have never been to a big train show/meet, except for a couple of small local ones in the Cleveland area. I would like to attend the York show, but I don't know where it is, or when it is. I plan on driving from Medina OH, and just spend one day. Any help would be helpful.
David, I'll be there!!!!! I go to all the East Coast Large Scale Train Shows. This is the FIRST that they will be having all scales. I am interested in seeing who will actually be there as far as scale goes. I am hoping that all the usual G scale venders are there and also some O scale 2 rail venders.

mlewski: You'll have to join the TCA first. There's a link on the Club news forums on the main page. It's definitely worth the trip.
As to the show next week, I'll be going to check prices on older LGB for my father - he's 87 and wants to start getting rid of his stuff. I'll be selling it at York next month.

If you are expecting something like the York meet, you will be disappointed. It is a show but nothing like what October will bring. I did G Scale for over 20 years and attend the show 2 times about 5 years ago. I also went this past March and it is not worth me traveling from Georgia. Half of the halls were displays running. There were not as many dealers/sellers as in the past. If you are relatively close and want to pass the time then yes it is worth it. If you are looking at major travel expenses and time, then it might be a let down. If I lived closer I would go because I like going to the shows, but when I have to take off work and drive/train, rent a car it was not worth it.
Thanks.
David
Yes I know it is not York in October that I have went to for the past thirty years. I'm not that far away, about 1 1/2 hours. I just thought it would be a nice day out and beings I'm retired I'll give the show a shot.
Is there another York show in Oct? Is is better/bigger than Sept? I would love to attend a nice show, for I am beginning to put my layout together, and could use some ideas and help. Are ther any good meets in the Cleveland / Akron area coming up soon? Sorry, too many questions.

If you know any TCA members in your area who are going, you can go one time as a guest. If not, you can go to TCA's website and and join.

MLEWSKI, Go to the York Forum. Learn all that you can. This is the show that you compare all others to. You should go at least once in your lifetime. This might be your time. If you go, you will want to go again and again.
I go twice a year, 500 miles one way.
We went to the this when it was a strictly (mostly) large scale show sponsored by Aristo several years ago. I got to see some cool things I didn't know about.
Mth was there with their brand new G scale Challenger. Even my girl said it looked cool the way it's boiler swung out on curves. They also had the new Dash 8s.
Dallee was there with a sound system installed in an Aristo SD45. It had a booster amp and nice low end rumble you could hear thru the whole hall.
So anyways, I was always glad I went. She wouldn't let me buy anything but I got to see what was going on.
Now, that it's an all scale show, I would hope there'd be even more cool stuff to see.
