Visited today. The shed was restored by an Eagle Scout. The water spout was restored to operation by the same Eagle Scout. Guess who's driving the engine?
The info is hanging above the nicnacs in the gift shop.

in my 20's and living in Long Branch, one of my staple weekend bike rides was out to Allaire St Park. nice to see the RR is still up and running. it's a 3' narrow gauge that runs around about a ½ mile loop if i remember correctly. i don't suppose the Shay is still running(?)

Allaire State Park, where the Pine Creek RR is located, was where I took a girl long ago on our first date. We took a train ride, visited the village, I bought her a candy stick in the company store. It was fun. On a related note, I also bought her an engagement ring a few years later. Been together 27 years now. For some reason, she's not surprised by all the train boxes squirreled away all over the house.
Do they still have the Surrey, Sussex and Southampton 2-6-0?

It's a shame the line was never extended as originally suggested to serve the entire park. The little circle of track is absurd, considering the size of the park and the difficulty of getting from one end to another.
Furthermore, the park is totally inaccessible by public transportation - I suspect by design -
The original "starters" are all deceased. It would seem this attraction needs some new direction, perhaps new funding and extension.
Gee. wonder what country, state?, this park is in?
