In this previously unpublished clip, AVR 4003, then one of the last GP40-3s still in its KCS-patched paint, trails HD-40 mother/slug set 4005/405 on the southbound AVR-3 local in 2017. I just missed the train at my usual spot near the Country Store, and did not want to stray too far from that week's D.A.R.E. Club meeting, so I shot just outside a landscape supply company.
Since 2017, all of the GP40s have been repainted into the standard purple maroon, yellow, and black, but four axle power still predominates south of Bruceton; just this past week, forumite Jason Capra caught one of the rare GP11s and even rarer SW1500s working Washington in place of the usual GP40-3s.
