Normal people are welcome. They also let John Devlin and me attend.

The Allentown meet is open to anyone with $7 in their wallet for the admission fee.

If they restricted attendance to only "normal" people, it likely would be a very sparsely attended event.

The OGR contingent--that would be Ed and Don--just minutes ago departed OGR HQ en route to Allentown.  I'm told they have many goodies aboard the OGR 18-wheeler (they left 14 of the wheels back here) that are sure to delight the trainheads in attendance.  If they run out of "stuff," there will be free shipping on orders placed at the show.

I was also asked to remind folks of the forum member photo op on Saturday, at the OGR booth.  I have no idea of the time, so hopefully it's listed elsewhere in this thread.

Good job, Judy. Might have been better, however, if you replaced one of us them lugs in the photo.

Once again I had a great time at the HamFam as well as the meet. And given the weather this winter it couldn't have come at a better time.

Thanks to Joe S for making it in from the Pittsburgh area. Might be the longest trip yet...but youns guys can argue with the Richmond crowd

I just posted about my trek in the other reply on how Allentown was.

I made the 3.5 hour journey from Northern Virginia.

Was happy I went to my first Allentown "Spring Thaw", although I would have called it the "Ice Rink" when I arrived, but the "Mud Bog" when I left, which was too early, as I didn't stick around for the picture....  It was a GREAT meet, but IMHO, just not worth the 8 hours of driving and my left arm in tolls.

Reminder to me - NEVER go up 95 that way again.  I still feel robbed of the $25 in tolls that the states of MD, PA, DE, NJ, or whomever took from me.

Came home the "back" way - much prettier drive...

Dave
