I bought a Locomotive there a few weeks before they closed and they were very nice to deal with.

I followed the link to the auction. No mention of online bidding. And the auction house wants a $500 cash deposit from bidders.
I wonder whether there is anything to auction now.
Fires have erupted in many stores before they go out of business. The logic is that if you cannot make money selling you make money from the insurance policy. I am not saying that this is what has happened here but but when I lived in Brooklyn I lived next to a guy that was known as "Louie the Torch".
Well, I see a lie detector test in someone's future as part of the insurance claim. Can't get rid of the inventory or find a new renter? Burn it down!
With all the water and smoke damage, it is doubtful much would be untouched.
To quote a line from an old joke...."How do you start a flood?"

The timing and level of involvement are eerily suspicious.

I just joined this forum. much had been written about the service in the place as being rather poor. The guys were characters, that is true, but George did many repairs for me over the years and was good to deal with. The reason for this post is to find out if anyone has any idea of how to find George. I haven't seen anything on the internet and I'd like to get in touch with him.

I will be with Fred Hill tomorrow and I will ask.

I think there was fire here in Michigan every week with some new home that fore-closed.
2008 was a tough year.
