I just received this from NASG

*******************************

As you may be aware, 2021 is the 75th Anniversary year for American Flyer S Gauge trains.  Very few brands of model trains have ever reached this milestone.

The 2021 Lionel Big Book catalog will be released on January 20.  It can be viewed on line on that date, or you can pickup a copy from your local Lionel dealer.  It will be in a flip over format.   As you look at the cover with the Lionel name on it, you can then flip the catalog top-to-bottom and the cover will now be the American Flyer catalog.  Besides the general release items for American Flyer, there will be special items specifically for the 75th Anniversary.

On February 2 at 5:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time, the National Association of S Gaugers has arranged, with Lionel 's cooperation, a live Internet presentation, "The American Flyer 2021 Catalog Live."  Celebrate 75 years of American Flyer S-Gauge Trains with Ryan Kunkle, Lionel's Director of Product Management.  He will take all viewers on a boundless journey to review the exciting NEW Products in the 2021 American Flyer Catalog.  (If you have obtained a copy of the catalog by the 2nd, it is suggested that you have it with you to help follow along with Ryan's tour.)

Anyone wishing to join the presentation may go to Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/AmericanFlyerTrains or go to YouTube, https://www.youtube.com/LionelModelTrains.   Those joining the presentation will be able to enter comments and questions to which Lionel will respond as time permits.

Please encourage your club members to join in and to pass the word along to other S model railroaders in your area that are fans of American Flyer S gauge model railroading.

We look forward to having a large number of S Gaugers nationwide join this very special event.

Kind regards,

Will Holt

"A boundless journey?"  Sounds like a little bit of hyperbole.

While I look forward to the new catalog, I'm keeping my expectations low.  I expect it will be fairly good for the "Traditional Flyer" fan, but of little interest for the more scale-inclined enthusiast.

Lionel's video catalog presentations that I've attempted to watch have had more of a carnival sideshow feel than serious presentation.  Maybe this one will be different, maybe not.

Boundless journey....I hadn't paid attention to that phrase the first time I read it, but now I am amused by it and feel like writing a song.  It sounds like the rapture may occur during the presentation.

My expectations are similar to yours, but I am hoping I am proven wrong again like when I stated my disbelief that the Legacy Berks would ever get manufactured.
