Hi all,
Well I got my Luggage car last night and I work on it as well, first the roof was
a mess, rush spots here and there and dirt on the sides, but it turned out nice.

I spent many evenings watching tv and cleaning those roofs. Sometimes it takes several tries to get out deep stains, as well as using a couple different types of polish. Well worth the effort once you get to the shiny, 50s toaster sheen!
Oh No! stop showing this nice stuff on here, it was hard enough to find the
SF and the one NYC car's I got.

Pennsy and B&O also had run through sleepers as well as NYC; good luck on finding that B&O car...
I finally finished running the Jumper cables on my cars. Nice and flicker free!
I took a couple quick videos and posted them to youtube, one with the lights on, and one with the lights off. Sorry in advance for the sideways video on the first one.
They are being pulled by a lionel legacy GP30. Not consist appropriate, but none of my postwar engines are beefy enough to pull them. The glowing orange bulbs are actually the light bulbs for some reason.

It's nice to see folks discovering these AMT cars. They really stand out when you've got a cleaned and tuned up set rolling along.

Have you converted any of the cars to roll on Lionel fast angle wheels? That will help out as far as having a consist that a postwar engine can pull without too much strain.

I have not. For now, I'll leave the wheels as is for the time being.
Adferraro,
You did a great job on the car's, I'm glad to see someone else using these,
they have a different look than the Lionel passenger cars, my next step is to
get LED lights they give off this nice blue glow that looks different. after that
I'm golig to give the trucks a real good cleaning maybe I'll polish the axles to
see if that helps with the rolling, but will give the new wheels a try.
