I guess something is in the works at Amtrak.

The Keystone News reported:

The Midwest Railway Preservation Society [MRPS} in Cleveland, Ohio received the donation of PRR twin-unit dining cars D85cR #6110 and D85dR #6511.
During their PRR days they were used mainly on “The Spirit of St. Louis” and “ The Cincinnati Limited”.  John Birmingham of Boulder Colorado recently donated the cars to MRPS, with the intention of having them restored to operating condition..
Mechanically the units are going to rebuilt to Amtrak specifications, as Amtrak has expressed interest in using them once complete. Amtrak personnel have inspected the cars and will assist with the required specifications.

The wife and I took Amtrak overnight ten years ago from New Orleans to Chicago and Chicago to Pittsburgh on the way back from our honeymoon cruise.  On both trains the food far surpassed what was served on the cruise ship.  My previous amtrak food quality had only been cafe cars so I was very pleasantly surprised.

If they are working on making the first class food even better I'm all for it.
