Well, let's see...I have over 100 pieces of Amtrak equipment. Let's see what I can dig up before I get home today...

My first one from 1989, a GG-1 and Heritage cars. There's one (somewhat) refurbished postwar coach and three Williams cars not shown, but they're in the collection:

My MTH AEM7 and Amfleet cars. I have a second 'toaster' in Phase IV (the plated one) and an AtlasO version that I have yet to run. I could conceivably run three "Northeast Direct" trains headed by AEM7's (and a fourth one led by an HHP-8). There's also a set of Welz Amfleets that I also haven't run yet:

There's my Williams Metroliner MU's, a four-car +two-car set combination. It needs all four bulky can motors to motivate those chubby Williams extrusions. I'd like to update the pantographs on these (and maybe update the stripes into a "what if they survived to a modern scheme?" version:

The "Cadillac" of my collection, a six-car Acela. Also the highest hitcount of any of my YouTube videos. Too bad almost all of that happened before YouTube started only counting unique visits as hits (for monetization purposes). Still looks impressive for a model-train video on a bare-bones loop:

There's also footage of it performing at Westport CT's First Night event a few years ago. Yes, all of its parts were still working at the conclusion of the three-or so hours of run time. (most of the features were switched off because the train pushes a Z-1000's capacity to its limit)

Here's my Lionel Northeast Corridor set, expanded to six cars and headed by the set's HHP-8. Not shown is the cab car that I got later via Charles Ro. Coincidentally, the HHP8 in this set is the same number as the first one Amtrak retired

Now we get into my biggest passenger trains. First up is my version of the Three Rivers. Two more Amfleet cars and 2 to 4 more RoadRailers didn't appear in this video:

And finally, my "Big Kahuna", the Auto Train. I can actually put 16 Superliners in this one, but I don't have 16+ auto carriers to go with them (or the space/amperage to run a full-length consist). The WIlliams P40's are set to be replaced by the new Phase V Genesis units in MTH's 2017 V1 catalog, and some of the freight autoracks masquerading as the newest Johnstown "Aluminum Vehicle Carriers" will be added. I'm also looking for a custom painter to re-do three Phase III auto carriers not seen here, into the custom Phase V seen near the end of this consist:

Had enough?

There are a few units that have yet to perform for YouTube. One of them is a 5-car set of Williams RDC's (there may be VHS footage of them on a floor layout somewhere), a set of six Williams 15" Superliners, six Williams 15" Amfleets, a trio of F40PH's (MTH PS1, K-Line, MTH PS3), A first-gen MTH P32BWH (Dash-8), some Lionel and K-Line Superliners, a pair of Lionel ExpressTrak reefers, and four K-Line RailMate trailers, not to mention a Williams E60 that I re-striped into Phase III and is awaiting a black paint job on its roof (and maybe better pantographs).

Last, but not least, is my Amtrak Exhibit Train, that awaits a custom painter to turn my three generic MTH baggage cars, MTH "Metra" Amfleet café and MTH fluted coach (to be modified into a crew sleeper) into straight Phase III equipment to go with my Anniversary Genesis and F40PH.

Soooooo, yeah..."America's Railroad" is well represented in my collection

Here is just a small taste of the Amtrak I have in O.  I've got plenty more on my cell phone that I need to transfer to my computer.

This ain't fair! You're showing off. Unfair Amtrak fetish stuff, thing, whatever.

NICE, U got the new E8s coming?

Joe - Yep!  I have two coming (3 Rail) and one in 2R PRR.  After showing off the sample ATSF E8M at York, I'm tempted to pick that one up too... They are that good.  Best E8 I have ever seen in mass produced O scale and better than a few brass ones I've seen.

Here's a few more pictures ..... lol!  All crappy cell phone "selfies".

Is that from the GGD set just released? Beautiful.

I haven't taken my F40PH's out of their boxes yet,

Given the many issues we've seen, I strongly suggest you get them out and check them over! Truthfully, knowing what I know now. I'd pop the shell before I ran them at all, could save a trip back to Lionel. The routing of the light board wiring is highly suspect in many of them, I've watched a number of them self-destruct before my very eyes!  I believe all of the ones sold through Henning's Trains have had to go back to Lionel already.  You might want to check out my thread on fixing the light intensity of the number boards as well...

New scale-wheel F40s from MTH. I've experimented with Kadees on these Superliners, but need to address the oversized diaphragms. I'll order a set in Phase III paint from the new MTH catalogue to replicate the Southwest Chief:

In looking at the new Lionel offerings at York, it appears as though they will finally offer the modern "tube" diaphragms as opposed to these accordion things. To my eye they look a bit under size (probably to not rub in curves), but perhaps with the right set of kadees they'd look more appropriate. Once these new 21" cars come available with a parts stock, I'm going to order a couple of these diaphragm sets and see how they work on some of my older cars.
