It's that time again! #16

For the Semi-Annual Legacy Users Group Meeting!

Friday October 23rd, 2015 Breakfast at 7:30, discussion and Q&A at 8-8:45AM

Alexander’s Family Restaurant

840 Carlisle Road  York, PA 17404  (717) 846-1041

One block from the Fairgrounds rear entrance. Downstairs banquet room (ask for Paula).

The Lionel Legacy Users Group is not associated with Lionel Trains in any way other than sharing the enjoyment and trading of information related to operating the Lionel Legacy System!

Keep and eye on this thread for more details!  Just a heads up, Alexander's has changed ownership.  The room from what we are being told is bigger and brighter.

As in the past the meeting will be recorded and put on YouTube by the following week thanks to Dave Slie!

As in the past we will solicit questions that will be sent directly to Lionel's Legacy gurus on the West Coast.  Please for the best possible answers please make your questions easy to read, clear, and to the point. We'll get everyone out for the start of the show unless you want to hang and ask some questions.

Some agenda updates...

  • We will discuss and if possible demonstrate any updates to the High Rail App.  High Rail is a LCS partner
  • I have a Legacy version of the eTrain Command Console software that we will also do an overview of.  eTrain is also a LCS partner.

As always after the meeting we can delve in deeper into both of these after the meeting if folks want a more in depth look as our "on-air" time is limited.

As always the organizers of the Legacy Users Group would like to thank Lionel's Jon Zahornachy, Mike Reagan, Rudy Trubitt, and the entire Lionel team.  Their continued support makes our job much easier.

Thanks to Alexander's and Paula for providing great service and food!

Thanks to all of the BETA testers whose work to make Legacy the best product it can be!

And thanks especially to all the LUG nuts out there who continue to enjoy the Legacy System and are willing to share their experiences, knowledge, and time with everyone!

Your organizers are Will Allen, and Marty Eibeck!

I have finally taken the plunge and added Legacy (I had thought I might just stay with TMCC).  The fact that I can connect my old TMCC command base to the Legacy #990 command set was the convincing factor.  So I would like to attend.

I do have a question:  Is the Legacy command set (or protocol) still available?  The announcement that it would be shared was made back in January 2014, but the web access seems to have disappeared with the new Lionel.com website.  Could it be made available in a downloadable PDF document like owners' manuals?

Marty, I will be there and possibly my wife also, unless she decides to sleep in.

Again, if you need stuff printed, send it to me, and if needed I can be there early to help set up, just let me know so I can plan accordingly.

Thanks again for all of your work in helping keep us updated on all of the new Legacy, LCS and TMCC Communications!

Re Alexander's Restaurant....

So, it's mentioned in the original post that the restaurant is now under new ownership.

Does this mean that they have restored longer business hours????

Wife and I typically enjoyed having dinner there on Wednesday after our arrival for the meet.  Then, a couple years ago...or so...they seemed to shut down after about 2-3PM??  What a disappointment!

Anyone know if the hours are longer now??

KD

Im not sure LIonel can answer this question...perhaps a call to Alexander's, the number is in the first post, might yield better results.

Here is a link to the PDF file.

The info is available in Lionel's LCS page...

This thread is good for all questions that folks want answered by JonZ and his team.  I will not answer any question here even if I do know the answers. For the LUG meeting, it's not my place to answer in place of Lionel.

I will answer in other threads.  I feel it is the purpose of the Q&A here is to get the answers directly from Jon and Lionel.

Many thanks, Chuck!  I had found some links but they did not go to the current pages.  My question can be removed from the ones that Lionel needs to respond to.
