The 1892 115th Street (Morgan Park) depot in Chicago is to be torn down, after suffering extensive damage in a May 28 fire, which has been determined to have been arson. The depot is located on METRA's former Rock Island "Suburban Line", and served commuters from the Morgan Park and Beverly communities. It is a certified Chicago landmark, and many hoped the structure could be repaired. This has been determined to be unfeasible. I once commuted on that line, and loved the Victorian look to the depots. This one really hits home.
