Besser's Whistle Stop in Baldwinsville New York has closed it's doors.

Kevin Besser has decided to pursue other interests.

Kevin and his ability to relate to customers will be sorely missed.

Besser's was a piller in the community.

Sorry to see you go my Friend!!!

Wasn't familiar with the name... but it was billed as Central New York State's largest model and toy train store.  Based on an article I read, it seemed to be a nice "local" hobby shop where you get get all the modeling supplies you'd typically need when moving through different phases of layout building.  Sad when those stores close their doors, 'cause it's nice to just drive in and get some supplies as needed.  Somehow, it's not the same as ordering online and having UPS deliver them.

Sad to see an other train shop close up, but believe me I have been there and it was not the biggest Train shop in New York State or Central New York for that matter. Most of the shop was taken up by the 2 layouts in there. JR Junction in Syracuse is the same size but has way more in stock. Besser's always looked more like a Train Clubs Train room than a hobby store.
