You will like this forum. Nice people here. Lots of different perspectives. And a ton of knowledge and lessons learned. Including this: don't ever use Simple Green to clean track. (It's a long story).
Welcome!
Welcome Hondo!
Get your feet wet so to speak before getting into command control, if you desire to go that route.
If you plan to expand your layout, going with a heavy gauge wire may work best for the long term, you won't have to upgrade the wries.

Welcome. There are a lot of very helpful people here. I didn't know AC from DC when I started and many here were very understanding.

Welcome aboard, Hondo and Gary. I'm a relative newbie too. You'll find lots of very helpful folks here. The knowledge that I've gained in a short time is invaluable and would have taken years to accumulate on my own.
Merry Christmas!
Ron
Hondo,
You will find some very talented and helpful folks here and you'll be able to get most, if not all questions answered. I probably would still have nothing but a loop or two of track on plywood were it not for the guidance I've gotten over the years for this forum.
Be wary of the "scrapple eaters". They usually surface around the same time as the York TCA meets and try and convince people of the merits of some awfully sounding meat concoction they call scrapple.
Ed
Glad to have you aboard. The train hobby has so many facets and directions. Always a joy to share all aspects of it.
