In re-doing my O27 layout, I picked up some 42" K-Line switches with fixed voltage taps. I understand the wiring for them and am looking forward to this improvement over my old ones that rely on track power.

My question has to do with pin placement in these switches. Do I put 9 insulating pins (3 rails * 3 connecting points) in the switch to isolate it from the feeding tracks since it's getting auxiliary power? Or, are they pinned the same way as my 42" Lionel switches (with fiber pins in the adjacent holes for the non-derailing feature)?

Thanks

Thanks Rob. You're one of many tremendous resources on this forum for guys like me (who know a little, but sometimes just enough to be dangerous). I'm looking forward to this layout having figured out how to wire switches and accessories to auxiliary power. My last layout was decent, enough to wow guests, but I hated how trains slowed due to activating the gateman and semaphores that I had wired to track power.
