Hello, I will be traveling to the Columbus OH area between June 28 and July 4. Are there any forum members in the Columbus OH area that would welcome a guest(s)? Also, are there any train "things" or shops that you can recomend in the area? If you are a forum member in Columbus, you can contact me in the email in my profile and we can (possibly) work something out. Thanks,

Nickstrains.

There are 4 hobby shops in the area around High St in the Worthington part of town. Google hobby shops and get directions. Two are train stores. One is almost all O, the other multi scale. The other two have trains but are general hobby too.

The Ohio Railway museum is also nearby.....again Google. I have not been there in 15 years.....so not sure what is going on now.

Several tin plate shops have come and gone in the Columbus area...The Blue Caboose

was once the location for used tinplate.  Closed some years ago, as have two others

I can think of...one in a small town NE of the city, and another in a mall on the west

bypass, plus another north of town that opened when the Blue Caboose closed, but was not open long.  Two other general hobby shops have vanished in the last decades.  Is the "Ohio RR Museum" that museum north of downtown that once had a section of track they ran interurban rides on?  I rode that decades ago, but thought they lost that track and I have not been by there in years, either.  Had forgotten about it.  There

is a tinplate shop now on Indianola Ave. that parallels I-71 just to the west.

That may be "Moody St." trains.  That street has one general hobby shop north of

that and was the location of Blue Caboose.  None of this sounds like a positive trend.
